What is the MUET program?
The Malaysian University English Test (MUET) is Malaysia’s national English proficiency test, administered by the Malaysian Examinations Council (MPM) since 1999. Trusted by institutions across Malaysia and globally, MUET is essential for students pursuing higher education and professionals demonstrating English competency.
Recognised Worldwide and Aligned with CEFR
MUET is aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) — the international standard for measuring language ability. It is also recognised by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), ensuring its credibility and global acceptance. As of today, MUET is accepted by 17 renowned universities including those in Singapore, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Japan, and China. Each candidate’s performance is graded on a Band scale from 1 to 5+, based on a total score of 1 to 360.
